The aging but still beautiful Lily Langford, the toast of 3 continents, is on a tour of the west and her next stop is Laramie. She's broke and one step ahead of the creditors because of her ne'er do well, cheating gambler of a husband, Ben Carson. Among his victims, Shanghai Pierce and his outfit from Texas, who are hot on his trail. Shanghai ends up locking horns with Jess Harper and then Slim Sherman and in the mêlée Ben Carson ends up out at the Sherman Ranch and Relay Station with Jonesy, who met Lily many years before at the height of her career. He's hoping to get her to sing one of his ditties and manages to get Carson to listen. Carson could care less because he's looking to swindle the town and Lily out of the receipts for the Laramie concert. It's up to Slim, Jess and ultimately Lily herself to stop him.

This is one of the few Laramie stories where Hoagy Carmichael gets center stage. In this one Hoagy is one of the adoring public of beautiful actress/singer Constance Moore who has a no good rat of a manager in Kent Taylor.

Laramie also is being visited by George Tobias who plays the legendary Texas cowman Shanghai Pierce who made his legend by being a big old hell raiser in the towns he frequented with his drovers. He's not the most appreciative of audiences, but you have to see how Moore puts him in his place with a little help from Carmichael.

A couple of nice songs from Moore as well who did a number of minor musicals back in the day with B picture studios.

I think you'll like this one.
