As Kimmy is trying to convince Gretchen to surrender, the television narrator on the nature show quotes the Kimmy Schmidt theme by saying "females are strong as hell."
After agent Yermuther says "I think she broke my back" he makes pain noises that resembles the sound of a seal. This is a nod to a infamous video where a reporter falls and makes those same weird noises.
When in the grocery store Lillian gives the fake name of Dr. Vanessa Poseidon; this is the name Kimmy gives when filling out the job form in an earlier episode
At the end, Gretchen is taken to Litchfield Prison, as seen in Orange is the New Black. She talks to Black Cindy after getting off the bus, and the camera shot reveals many other familiar Litchfield inmates.
