When being translated to English in 1990 for the U.S. release Snoozabit's drinking problem was edited out for the american audience and was covered up by giving him the trait of just simply laziness. His drink was also changed from 'dandelion' wine' to 'dandelion juice' for its new release.

This was my favorite cartoon when I was little. I'm surprised to see that it began airing in 1990, because to me, I group this show with the best of the great old 80s cartoons - this show HAD to have been on at some time in the late 80s. In those glorious days before school began, I can remember many mornings lying on my stomach in front of the TV with my coloring book, watching The Littl' Bits on Nick Jr.

Most of my memories of the show have probably been garbled over the years. The show itself was a lot like The Smurfs, The Snorks, or other 80s cartoons, involving little forest creatures no bigger than your thumb. The Littl' Bits were little people who lived in mushrooms, trees, and the like.

It's been so long since I've seen the show that I don't even remember too much of it. I recall a few episodes - one in which the kids found a horse, and a two-parter that kept us 5-year-olds on the edge of our seats, about the kids running away to go to the beach. I also remember a lot about Lillabit (I believe that's her name), who had that awesome flying squirrel! She was an orphan and lived with the village doctor who was always sleeping. In one episode her parents came back to get her, but the village like rejected them, but Lillabit stood up for them...or so the memory plays in my mind. I really don't know how accurate it is. Then there was Williebit, the boy, and he had a little sister. There was another boy who was kinda bratty and annoying. He was the mayor's son (?). And like every 80s cartoon, there was a wise old character, aptly named Elderbit.

I have no idea how accurate or badly tainted these memories are, but this is a show that has a special place in my memory like so many other 80s cartoons. If Nick brought back this show, along with their other great old shows like Hey Dude and Salute Your Shorts, I'd be in nostalgia heaven.

I loved the Littl' Bits! This also was my first taste of anime and I have been addicted to anime since >.< I do remember some episodes-especially the one where her parents come back. They were Wanderbits and the town refused them because of that I believe. I remember her uncle was always "drunk" and sleeping. I actually have a VHS of the Littl' bits. I don't remember when or where I got it. As I got older and into more "serious" anime I realized that Littl' Bits was in fact an anime and not your normal American cartoon for the time. What tipped me off was not only the art, but when one would get embarrassed, a tear drop would form above the head which is typical anime. Also, does anyone remember the show "David the Gnome"? That was a similar cartoon around the same time period. Or there was also one about Koala bears called "Noozles" . Pinky and Blinky were the chars. Noozles was also an anime by "Nippon Animation Company that was originally released in Japan in 1984, under the title Fushigi Na Koara Burinkī or Brinky and Printy." according to Wikipedia. Also a good anime if anyone remembers it. Good times ^_^ Thanks for bringing back such great memories!

I also remember episodes of this show elderbit and willabit often argue with one another because each has an affection for lillabit. there was actually an episode that i found quite ironic in which one of the boys harms a squirrel for attempting to eat from their picnic basket. the show aired for just 26 episodes on nick jr. the theme song goes: Come join the fun, were the littl' bits.

they're all around, our littl' bits.

and you can be sure there's lessons to be learned come watch the littl' bits and do it while you can they're full of love, our littl' bits.

sometimes I wish I was a littl' bit cause with a little bit of love the world could be a better place for you and me.

This, too, was my favorite show in my younger days. Unfortunately, being born in 1985 put me on the tail of the Littl' Bit Fan Generation, which to my knowledge goes back to those born around 1977. What RedRoses said was generally correct. 25 episodes were shown with the 26th Episode Special, where *SPOILER* the parents came back after being presumed dead for the entire series. *END SPOILER* Lilybit (I've seen this spelled Lilabit, Lillybit, etc) was the main character with the ability to communicate with animals...While most considered this a standard cartoon it was actually an anime series by the name of Mori no Yogi na Shojintachi: Belfy to Lilbit, which made its way to America (amazing considering our poor dubbing abilities). However, the life issues displayed in the show, put an impression that has lasted in my mind from when I was 5 to now, at almost 17. Nickelodeon decided to cancel the show in 1995, none-the-less, I had the fortune of catching a Christmas Morning Special at 5:30 AM in 1998 to see the last episode aired, one last time. Personally, I'd love to see Littl' Bits again. It was a show that has had an amazing impact upon my life, and if you ever get the chance to see it, especially those of you born in the 90's, consider yourselves quite lucky.

For nearly six years now, I have been catching he-double toothpicks from my friends because I would always tell them that my favorite show growing up was "The Littl' Bits on Nickelodeon. The problem was not that the show was bad, but that they did not believe that it ever existed. I now have proof that my favorite show was not a figment of my imagination (though it would have been a lucrative psychotic episode) and that it was, in fact, quite awesome. I am 20 years old, and I still catch myself at times (often in the middle of lectures or classes) singing the theme song. Thank you for giving me proof! I can now, quite maturely, stick out my tongue at those friends. Well, they are actually not friends of mine any longer due to their constant badgering about the "figment". This show was my first taste of anime, and has led to a lifelong love affair with the genre. Also, the characters were much more developed than those on other shows. I watch some of the cartoons aired for children these days, and do not find it surprising that kids are so messed up. (Have you ever actually watched Ren & Stimpy, Catdog, Rocko's Modern Life, etc. ?) No wonder people are crazy. Shows these days are not the end of society, but it's within walking distance, in my opinion. Bring back Lillabit!!!
