The title of episode Two ("Dreams of Bunker Hill) is inspired by the novels of John Fante.
A special master is appointed by a judge to ensure that judicial orders are followed. Special masters also sometimes hear evidence and offer recommendations to the judge as to the disposition of a matter.
Although this scene with Bosch and Sergeant Snyder at the coroner's was filmed on stage, "Bosch" is one of only a few productions ever granted access to film inside the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner's office located on Mission Road (see episode two of Season Two, "The Things About Secrets").
As a member of the Internal Affairs Group, Sergeant Amy Snyder (Winter Ave Zoli) investigated Bosch for conduct unbecoming during Season Three.
The character of Honey "Money" Chandler (Mimi Rogers) first appeared in Michael Connelly's 1994 novel "The Concrete Blonde," the third book in the Harry Bosch series.
This task force scene aims to dramatize how a real case of this nature would build in the first 24-48 hours. "Bosch" technical consultants, Tim Marcia and Mitzi Roberts, both LAPD detectives with the elite Robbery-Homicide Division, advised on how to assess potential suspects, the credibility of alibis, and the investigative steps generated from belongings found on the deceased.
The scene at Bradley Walker's affluent home was filmed on location in Hancock Park.
Along with Lance Reddick (Chief Irving), Jamie Hector is an alum of the drama series "The Wire," widely regarded as one of the best TV shows of all time. Before taking on the role of Detective Jerry Edgar, Hector portrayed drug kingpin Marlo Stanfield on that acclaimed series.
The t-shirt Maddie wears when covering Harry with the blanket has an owl print on the front. This ties into the previous series with the Owl camera and Owls in Heironymous Bosch paintings.
