In "Herod's Law", a previous movie by Luis Estrada, Gloria (Leticia Huijara) left a note to her husband with the P.S. "Nos vemos en el infierno"/"I'll see you in hell", possibly a hint reference for "El Infierno".
Only film in the trilogy where Damian Alcazar character does not become a villain. And also the only film where his character regrets some of his killings.
This is the film of the trilogy that received less censorship while it was being projected in Mexico, this could be because, the other two films, "Herodes' Law" (2000) and "The Perfect Dictatorship" (2014), were released when the most powerful and controversial Party of the country, PRI, was ruling the country. This party is very known in Mexico for not letting the people critizise them.
At the end we see Mr. Reyes, being the druglord of his cartel, becoming mayor of the town where the story takes place. This was a hint that the country's government knew that candidates from many political parties have lots of criminal records and despite of it, they let them to run for any political election. Coincidentaly during the Mexican Election in 2018, two politians who were running for Mayor, where arrested and sent to prison two days prior the elections, people were unaware of the situation and won the elections anyway. But contrary to what is shown in the film, those candidate's were changed and never allowed to take possession.
