Will's friend who is a comedian comes to LA and Will wants to do it as well but it doesn't work out.

Not a bad episode. The best part are actually the stand up done by Will's friend (D.L. Hughley). Although the joke at the end about Elvis and no black man staying alive that long is outdated. It was before 2Pac died. He is still seen from time to time around.

And uncle Phil also made me laugh a lot in this episode. Both trying to have quality time with his family as well as ripping Will apart for wanting to be a comedian.

Ain't No Business Like Show Business

The origin of Will Smith's fame and too many mentions from The Graham Norton Show got me to binge watch this series which I think has a potential to be a typical one-time-watch sitcom. The creators made the relations pretty much clear from the first frame now all one seek and wait for is their character development through this journey with hopefully no dips on content or humor. The relation between Will Smith and Tatyana Ali seems interesting (something to look forward especially when she grows up) and is definitely supposed to bring the laughs whilst with James Avery there is a soft spot hidden in there.

The second season definitely narrowed down the priorities and showed what they will focus on and what it is all about like Geoffrey, Vivian and Ashley turns out to be supportive (at least for now it seems like) cast while surprisingly Carlton and Hillary had almost parallel role and maybe also because these characters are strong and have genuine depth in them. And as far as the plot is concerned they still haven't advanced from what they started so they better boost up and bring out the big guns.

It takes too much time on building up the scrutiny and when it actually hits on screen, it comes out okayish which isn't worth the time invested instead the mundane on going humor between family is more funny than the effort that went in.
