Anyone who knows about the Fresh Prince knows that the first Aunt Viv was on her way out. If you watch Season 3, you can see Viv's role slowly diminish over the season presumably due to contract disputes. So what do they do in her last appearance on the show? Don't bring her out right until the very end and have her renew her "vows" to her TV husband and then two episodes later, bring in a new aunt Viv.

This must have been a brutal moment for everyone involved, but it was a particularly cruel and sinister joke played by the writers on Janet. Look at that last scene with her walking out in the wedding dress. She's a great actress, but the tension isn't easy to avoid. Find another way to get rid of her, but don't make her go through something like that.

It is an episode about uncle Phil and aunt Vivian renewing vows.

It is not a great episode because it is the flashback one. Luckily they didn't have them since the one in the first season which really scared me because it was way too soon .

It is also sad because this is the last episode with Janet Hubert as aunt Vivian. I heard different stories and don't know for sure why she had to leave. But I do know that I hate to lose her in this part as she was absolutely perfect in it. Haven't seen the new one yet but it is upsetting.

The Way We Were

The origin of Will Smith's fame and too many mentions from The Graham Norton Show got me to binge watch this series which I think has a potential to be a typical one-time-watch sitcom. The creators made the relations pretty much clear from the first frame now all one seek and wait for is their character development through this journey with hopefully no dips on content or humor. The relation between Will Smith and Tatyana Ali seems interesting (something to look forward especially when she grows up) and is definitely supposed to bring the laughs whilst with James Avery there is a soft spot hidden in there.

The second season definitely narrowed down the priorities and showed what they will focus on and what it is all about like Geoffrey, Vivian and Ashley turns out to be supportive (at least for now it seems like) cast while surprisingly Carlton and Hillary had almost parallel role and maybe also because these characters are strong and have genuine depth in them. And as far as the plot is concerned they still haven't advanced from what they started so they better boost up and bring out the big guns.

The Way We Were is one of those episodes that spends most of its time on visiting the flashback sequences so there isn't anything new to look forward to except for some usual one liners that is mundane in Bank's house.
