The jazzercize studio Diaz, Peralta and Holt are seen talking in is called Razzmatazz which is the name of the horse Holt is betting on in his flashback during Brooklyn Nine-Nine: USPIS (2014).

Pimento complains that his private detective gig is suffering in part because of poor Yelp! reviews, including at least one saying he has a "weird energy." Later, Rosa - to whom Pimento is engaged - describes him to Lt. Hawkins as "good looking guy, weird energy."

Chelsea Peretti is pregnant in real life. She is the second main cast member to be pregnant during production, but the first to have her character become pregnant simultaneously. (Melissa Fumero was pregnant during Season 3, but her character, Amy Santiago, was not. The showrunners utilized a great deal of camera/set piece trickery to mask her belly, and ultimately made her "fake pregnant" during a story where she went undercover.)

When Amy is trying to pretend that she didn't think Gina was pregnant, in a fluster, she sings, "down in kokomo." Kokomo was the big hit that came out of the movie, Cocktail, and Gina Gershon (who plays Lt. Hawkins) was in Cocktail.

The plot point where the cops are led to the wrong bank resembles the plot of the 87th Precinct novel "Let's Hear It For The Deaf Man" by Ed McBain.
