The Music Club is cancelled when all the recorders are stolen - and everyone immediately regards Tegs with suspicion. Mr. Griffiths sees Ziggy and Robbie collecting money for their bike security operation, and concludes they are extorting money. Gonch suggests that Ronnie sells tapes in the precinct to raise money. She'd like to do a paper round, but her mother forbids it. Ziggy collects a set of people to jump Mauler, including Trevor who has taken up weight-lifting. Tegs takes Justine to his real home - a real tip, and reveals to her that he had reading difficulties, which is why he ignored her note. While Ziggy gathers his troops to pounce on Mauler, Mr. Griffiths has acquired some staff to catch what he perceives to be wrong-doers in the bike sheds. Ronnie meets Calley and Helen while she is trying to sell her tapes: they suggest she would do better shoplifting like they've been doing so successfully.
