Liv unwittingly crosses paths with the most dangerous man in Seattle, a slimy crime lord named Stacey Boss, while investigating the murder of degenerate gambler Harry. Detective Babineaux has a super-fan moment when he and Liv question NBA Hall of Famer Calvin Owens at Harry's funeral. Meanwhile, Blaine's father makes a huge discovery about his son, and Ravi delivers some bad news. Also, Major continues to struggle with his reluctant role of being a zombie killer for Max Rager Corp.

Former real-life NBA player, Rick Fox, plays the basketball player Calvin Owens, who gets in trouble for point shaving. Ironically, on the CW series One Tree Hill (2003), Rick Fox plays a bookie who convinces the character Nathan to point shave in his high school basketball championship game.
The chapter title, "Omelette You Finish", is a reference to the inside joke about Kanye West opening up a Breakfast Bar named, "Omelette You Finish." A joke that spun from Kanye West interrupting Taylor Swift's 2009 VMA acceptance speech, "Imma Let You Finish."
