Yakari and Little Thunder come across a trio of young wolves, whose erratic behavior terrorizes the deer. They find out the bickering wolves broke away from the pack when their leader, Great White, disappeared, and are unable to localize their proper plains prey without him. Yakari promises to guide them there, in exchange for their promise to leave the forest wildlife in peace, and has a surprise meeting.
