Two war brides in the film were acquainted in Gifu Japan. When they ended up living next door to each other in Tacoma Washington, they became lifelong best friends.
On the Facebook group page, a war bride daughter discovered she had lived on the same naval base as another war bride daughter when they were children. Recently, they reunited.
The director's casting assistant met a war bride daughter in Honolulu. When he alerted the director that he found someone who could be cast for the documentary, he mentioned her name and the director realized she was the same woman her sister had been best friends with in another state when they were just five years old-some 58 years earlier.
