Batman Beyond Rebirth: Part 2 (1999–2001) Online

Determined to bring his father's murderers to justice, Terry finally impulsively resorts to using Wayne's last Batsuit to investigate as the new Batman.
Episode cast overview:
Will Friedle Will Friedle - Terry McGinnis / Batman / Guard (voice)
Kevin Conroy Kevin Conroy - Bruce Wayne (voice)
Sherman Howard Sherman Howard - Derek Powers (voice)
George Takei George Takei - Mr. Fixx (voice)
Teri Garr Teri Garr - Mary McGinnis (voice)
Corey Burton Corey Burton - Vilmos Egans (voice)
John Rubano John Rubano - Reporter / Doctor (voice)
Philip Maurice Hayes Philip Maurice Hayes - Guard (voice) (as Phil Hayes)

Batman (Terry McGinnis) indirectly turning Derek Powers into Blight with the nerve gas mirrors how Batman (Bruce Wayne) caused the Jokers origin of being turned into his clown appearance by falling into a vat of chemicals, also Blights laughter after seeing his new appearance resembles Jokers.

As the hovercraft sinks, the front window can be seen shattering, whether this was to leave an opening for Mr. Fixx to return if the writers decided to bring him back or not is unknown.

Using more action than backstory, "Rebirth: Part 2" is a solid conclusion to the origin story of Terry McGinnis. It's also a pretty dark theme to include chemical warfare into a kids show, but Dini and company were really good at that. I also like the parallels between original Batman villains and these new ones. Derek Powers, or Blight, as I believe he's called now, has a similar origin to both Mr. Freeze and The Joker. An interesting combination if I do say so myself. I imagine the first few episodes of this show will have Terry still getting used to the suit, but this is a solid start to the show as a whole.

With everything said in my review of Part 1, I can't really add much to the conclusion of the origin story of Terry McGinnis as Batman Beyond other than it's fantastic!

Really serious issues of corruption and chemical warfare is brought up and I admire every kids show doing that, because we should not underestimate the intelligence of kids.

Terry and Bruce go through some exciting character dynamics in the final part of Rebirth, and Terry's encounters with Derek Powers and Mr Fixx are filled with wonderful tension built up in pt. 1.

A start of a wonderful partnership has begun!
