Twin Signal: Family Game is an excellent addition to the Twin Signal manga. The animation is fluid, the sound is great, and the voice acting is above average. That said, it's also a little disappointing that there were not more of these made. As it stands, this animation showcases only a very small portion of one of the earliest parts in the manga. As a result, those not familiar with the comics may find this to be a good and interesting view, but nothing spectacular. Those familiar with the comics will appreciate it for what it is (a lovely animated version of one of the best parts in the overall story), but some may be disappointed that their favorite characters aren't in the actual thing. :( However, it's overall a good watch, whether or not you know anything about it. ^_^ Highly recommended.

Twin Signal tells the story Professor Otoi, a famous robot maker, who, by request of his grandson Nobuhiko, makes his latest creation, a fighting robot named Signal, something akin to an older brother figure, but during the programming Nobuhiko sneezed, and therefor set a bug on Signal's system...

The story takes a light flow, easy to follow, where you can easily understand what the characters are feeling and what exactly is going on. Big, pointless battles are out of the question, and while there is action, it's overlooked by the comedy and the somewhat peaceful, logical resolutions to things. The humor is also pretty good, not recurring to inside jokes but to forms of entertainment that would amuse all audiences alike. As for the animation, on itself, it's pretty good, one of the best I've seen up to this point! It's a movie that you can actually watch over and over and not get tired of it, and it serves as something nice to watch at any time.

I suggest this movie to anyone, people of ALL ages, who just want a taste of something different, but not too much. Old school and yet, innovative of it's own, it's content will leave a good impression on you, while you may not be pondering the meaning of life, and with endearing characters and story, truly a light and enjoyable experience.
