Everyone who cares about our beautiful country (Australia) should see this. The first remedy to apathy is awareness and this movie is very good at raising it for us, general public. I am very humbled that some people spent years of their life giving everything they have to live in those camps and that someone cared enough to film a relentless 700 hours of footage and bring this condensed version to the city theaters. They intend to start Community screening next year and I hope we can all help them get the word out i.e. get the DVD and screen it in Community nights for instance in local yoga studios and willing participating cinemas.

I spent a lot of this movie crying, it went straight to my heart. It's hard to comprehend that this is happening to our country, it is so unjust. I am so glad this is being documented. I hope we can turn the tide. Black Hole is a factual representation of the many parts of the story of this mine; from the beginning to the present happenings. It documents the corruption that has allowed this land to be taken off the hands of the public and importantly, the Gomeroi people; the traditional owners. It shows the techniques by the community of people who try and stop the mine- using direct action. Citizen science is used to record the endangered plants and animals in the forest whose habitat is destroyed. At this pivotal point in history in regards to climate change it is fascinating and important to see how the fight is playing out. It is a epic tale of David and Goliath; of corporate power being put up against people power, a beautiful tale.
