Sadly, that's it. Young and lively Nathan is irreversibly dead from a hideous car crash and there's nothing he can do about it. However, after the initial shock, Nathan discovers that there's actually a lot to do when you join the departed, such as find out the answers to life's great mysteries or maybe uncover what happened to your beloved missing dog. Either way, be careful of what you ask, because you may not like the answer.

I truly enjoyed this short film and can not recommend it highly enough. What starts off with humor ends with leaving you with a sense of appreciation of the present moment. To value what is most dear to you and to make every moment count. Carpe Diem. After all we only live once. It left me with an appreciation for the moment, the ones that i love and for the arts.

The director, composer and actors came together in complete harmony to create what i would classify as a masterpiece.

Please make more films like this. 10 stars from my side.

The concept of The Answers is simple: our main character is dead and appears to the camera in front of a white background. Realizing he can now know everything there is to know, he asks lots of questions of his maker, getting the answer each time. At first it is small grudges and fun stats, but as it goes on he comes to a greater realization about the time he just ended.

The presentation of this short is surprisingly simple in what it does; we get the idea very quickly –Nathan is dead and we see the answers to his questions in quickly edited flashback sequences. It has energy and is amusing from the start, and it is this fun energy that draws the viewer in. The simple structure works well with the colorful and more detailed flashbacks to provide a film that is superficial but yet also provides us with enough about the character to actually care about. So when the film does inevitably turn a bit sappy and reflective in nature, we are more or less there with it. I won't say it was perfectly moving, but it was nicely done to make me care and then deliver some gentler moments to use that.

The movie comes with an intriguing tagline: "Every question you've had about your life in 8 minutes or less." At the film's outset, poor Nathan has died and finds himself in a white, featureless void of an afterlife. Intrigued by it all he starts to ask some really personal question at first like 'What was his bravest moment' and 'How close did he come to a shark in the ocean'? but soon, as the answers cut deeper and deeper, the man begins to learn things he never wanted to know.

For people who are not into romance, if any, shouldn't let this viral short film get past them. The story unfolds in a way which bind the viewers, making them care about Nathan and think about what could've been?

I cannot say I enjoyed this short film too much. "The Answers" runs for slightly under 8 minutes and written and directed by Michael Goode and it is a 2015 release, so roughly one year old now, probably older when you read this review. It's about a man who gets to ask God all the important questions and also the not so important ones. Given he just died, it's surprising how relaxed he is throughout the entire film. Unfortunately, I cannot say I was moved by this little movie at any point. It was probably the director's intention to think about our own decisions as we watch this, but the film somehow loses itself between drama and comedy without properly delivering in any of the two areas. Not worth the watch overall. Thumbs down.
