Because he believes Van Leemhuizen forget to leave the town hall alarm system's key, the mayor asks Gert and Samson to act as night-guards. They accept and try to get some sleep during the day. When Alberto learns so, he's jealous of the opportunity to eat and drink at night, and wants the job. The mayor will only let him if Gert and Samson fail. So he tries anything to disturb their sleeping efforts.
