The Big Bang Theory The Alien Parasite Hypothesis (2007–2019) Online

Amy experiences strange symptoms, which she believes are signs of a flu. They include an elevated heart rate, sweaty palms, dry mouth, and localized vascular throbbing. As Penny and Bernadette were present when the symptoms began, they know that Amy doesn't have the flu: she is in lust with Penny's ex-boyfriend, Zack Johnson. As Amy and Sheldon finally come to the conclusion that Amy is feeling womanly urges for the first time in her life, Sheldon has to come to terms with what his feelings for Amy are. They also have to decide how best to satisfy Amy's new biological urges. Meanwhile, Howard and Raj get into an argument: if they were to acquire super powers, who would be the superhero and who would be the sidekick. They have to come up with a way to settle the argument.

The is a rare instance where the episode title is actually stated directly (including the word "The"), by Sheldon during the differential diagnosis.

The first Amy-centric storyline.

Sheldon states that the best number is 73. Actor Jim Parsons (Sheldon) was born in 1973.

Amy tells Zack that she wants to grab hold of his gluteus maximus and make Shakespeare's metaphorical beast with two backs. She is telling him that she wants to grab his backside (the gluteus maximus is the main muscle in the buttock) and have sex with him. The "beast with two backs" is a quotation from Shakespeare's Othello (Act 1, Scene 1).

Amy Farrah Fowler states her weight as 130 lbs.

The title refers to one of Sheldon's theories about why Amy had her symptoms.

When Sheldon and Amy Farrah Fowler are performing a differential diagnosis of her symptoms, one of the ailments listed is "Lupus".

Howard says he "will never be a sidekick." In Dr Horrible's Sing-Along Blog (2008), Simon Helberg plays the sidekick and roommate of the titular Dr Horrible.

Not only is the number 73 important marking the year actor Jim Parsons was born, this is also the 73rd episode of the show.

Bernadette only appears in 1 scene in this episode.

Amy tells Zack that she wants to grab hold of his gluteus maximus and make Shakespeare's metaphorical beast with two backs. She is telling him that she wants to grab his backside and have sex with him. The "beast with two backs" is a quotation from Shakespeare's Othello (Act 1, Scene 1).

While Sheldon and Penny are talking in the laundry room, there's a sign behind Penny on the wall that reads: "Please Keep Your Clothes On While Doing Laundry"

The first episode with the introduction of both Amy Farrah Fowler and Zachary Johnson was The Lunar Excitation season 3 episode 23. This is the first episode they meet.

In this last season ep of "The Big Bang Theory": Howard and Raj are having an argument about which of them would be the superhero and which would be the sidekick if some radioactive thing happened to either of them. So Leonard observes them trying to wrestle. I say trying because neither have even touched each other for 30 minutes. Meanwhile, Penny, Bernadette, and Amy are at a bar when an ex-boyfriend of Penny's shows up. Amy suddenly has an urge that makes her go "hoo". When she tells Sheldon about it, he figures it out what she has and tells her to do like Mr. Spock and suppress it. That doesn't seem to help. I'll stop right there and just say how really hilarious the whole episode is. So on that note, "The Alien Parasite Hypotheses" is an excellent episode of "The Big Bang Theory".

Full disclosure--I really dislike the character of Amy Farrah Fowler. While the guys are nerdy, but funny, she is just weird and not funny. And why are the women on this show with brains (with the exception of Bernadette) purposely made to look homely and expressionless? In this episode Amy veers away from her usual lesbian leaning commentary when she becomes attracted to one of Penny's old boyfriends. Of course, she can't figure out "what's wrong" and why she feels the way she does. Is she sick? She and Sheldon try to diagnose her problem--hence the title.

Meanwhile Wolowitz and Koothrappali are in a debate as to which of them would be the hero vs. the sidekick if they got super powers. Yeah--that's it. It's very disappointing and has none of the usual clever banter.

The only reason why I am writing review of a 21 minute episode is because it's very special to me. Sheldon proposes a topic to discuss socially amongst friends. He continues in spite of negligence of friends in comedic manner and ends his conversation. The topic of discussion is number 73. How it is prime number at 21st position and its opposite i.e. the number with replaced digits is a prime at 12th position i.e. 37. He further explains it's a palindrome as well. I would like to add here is 73 is an emirp, meaning that the reverse of 73, that is, 37, is also a prime number. 73 is a star number. 73 in base 36 number conversion is 21. The number 21 has prime factors 7 and 3. The number 21 in binary is 10101; 7 in binary is 111, 3 in binary is 11, and seventy-three in binary is 1001001.

Thus my friends I would really like u to watch this episode and enjoy!
