Raylan is once again drawn into the criminal goings-on in Harlan, this time as a suspected dirty cop. And this show squeezes a surprising amount of fun and laughs out of a pissy marshal. Best way to get under this guy's skin is to drag his name into the mud.

But for all of the sniping between various players, this is really about Quarles, whose power is at risk with each diminishing resource. His mask of sanity is starting slip. But his flagrant purchase of Harlan's sheriff gets Boyd fired up and it's grandiose scheming from all directions.

Great episode, if only to give McDonough more screen time. Shots are fired from both sides in the name of business, but more Quarles is always a treat.
