Dean and Claire bond over mini golf in this episode. In real life, Kathryn Newton (who plays Claire) is an avid golf player.

When Sam and Dean meet Castiel at the hospital, Dean says. "Three men and a lady. Let's do this." This is a reference to Three Men and a Little Lady (1990) -- the sequel to the 1987 comedy, Three Men and a Baby.

Russell Porter (Ronnie Cartwright) played Dean's suburbs buddy/neighbor Sid in Season 6, episode 1, "Exile on Main St". He was also credited as "Neighbor" in another CW hit, IZombie.

The title of this episode is taken from the Mickey Rourke thriller "Angel Heart" (1987). Which has Harry Angel Private Eye, whom double-crossed his deal with the Devil, sets out killing all who might know his true identity, while unbeknownst to Harry is that Louis Cypher, his patron is the Devil.

When Castiel gives Claire the Grumpy Cat stuffed animal he says, "I got it at the Hot Topical." This is a reference to the store Hot Topic, which is known for carrying merchandise from different fandoms, one of their main ones being Supernatural.

The FBI aliases Sam and Castiel are using are Agents Clapton and Page. This is a reference to guitarists Eric Clapton and Jimmy Page, who both used to play in the Sixties blues rock group, as well both also played in John Mayalls Blues Breakers Band. The Yardbirds.

In this episode Amelia Novak is played by Leisha Hailey, a recast from the original Amelia, played by Wynn Everett in 4x20 "The Rapture".

I'm not lying, this episode felt solid since the beginning, the story between Castiel and his vessel was never this interesting, and i was surprised by the fact that i was really interested in a "Monster of the Week" with this episode. The story was well written, the director did a good job once again(same one from Swan Song),it tied some loose ends between Castiel and his vessel's family,Jimmy Novak and Amelia Novak met in heaven, that was one of the strongest part of the episode,of so many, claps for this episode.

So this is it,if we could have more episodes like this,SPN would reach a whole new level, definitely worth watching, emotional, fun to watch, not a single complain about it..

The director picks up a smaller arc of the season and makes it satisfyingly touching. The episode brings up the intensity which the season lacked for its most part. A conclusion is given to Novak family which is sad and happy at the same time. Claire Novak(Kathryn Newton) finally gets her sort-off closure from all the things that she couldn't explain. She accepts Castiel and the Winchester boys for what they are trying to do. Hopefully we get to see her in more episodes as we definitely saw a future hunter in the making. The rest of the episode was pretty well directed and never had a dull moment.

Overall

+ Claire & Dean moments + Small loose ends tied + Lacked nothing and felt heart touching and intense

10x20 has to be one of my 5 favorite chapters in all seasons I loved the improvement of the relationship o Claire Novak to Castiel, the fact that she was interested in being a hunter and improve shes relationship with Dean in that regard, that showed another side of Dean, which I did not think he would have, you could say "the paternal side of Dean" ?? That was great, he could really be a great father, despite Sam, the truth is that Dean regarding Sam has always been much more like a protective brother than a father and Sam is someone who repeatedly need to be saved, instead Claire is young enough to be a daughter and much stronger in character than it was the little Sammy, especially the attitude, she is like a mini Dean, it was very fun to watch, they really look like a strange family, I think shes character is great, other think in particular that I liked was the gift that Castiel gave to her, That made me laugh so hard, although the whole chapter was pretty emotional, very worrisome in some ways and kind of sad too, in the end I left a good feeling, just as she said, the goodbyes are not forever, right?

excellent chapter, with an interesting mix of events and feelings, hope the next will be as good as this

This episode is one of the best in the series. Dean's eagerness to get into a fight in the first scenes was hilarious. Kathryn Newton plays an angsty teen with depth. The end was classic a Supernatural tragedy. The ending song was perfect. All around a great episode. Still surprised how at how engaging the show can still be 10 seasons in.

Minor spoilers I am not gonna be long here . Just what the hell why dint Cass jumped to help/protect His *Wife* and why he wasn't able to heal her before she died ?

He got his mojo back right ?

Than that horrible scene at the end with dean and Cass*s *kid* I mean she had her mom died in her arms last night than second day they already can crack jokes with fuzzy teddy bears or whatever was that toy that Cass bought her .

I mean aren*t you supposed to be crushed just after 1 day you though it up and smile at a cheap dean joke? Yikes that was horrible!

This episode has the saddest death I've ever watched. When Claire's mum dies and she is trying hold her in her arms but she's so limp and like her arms are just hanging there, man the feels hit me so hard.
