"Requiem for a Saddle Bronc Rider" is a pretty forgettable episode. In addition, there are some MAJOR goofs that show that the show was being slapped together rather quickly and without great care. It's a shame, as it was a great series but towards the end of the run, it had definitely lost something. And, the sloppy mistakes are ample proof of it.

The show begins with a guy driving a horse-drawn wagon up on a cliff. However, when the camera comes in for a closeup, suddenly the guy is going the opposite direction! Sloppy. Anyway, he tosses two bodies off the cliff into the sea...and that's not something you see every day! Not surprisingly, someone is soon looking for one of the bodies--the sister of the dead guy. However, when she and McGarrett go out to the missing man's job (a rodeo), everyone is very tight-lipped and uncooperative. It's obvious that they know something but WHAT that is they cannot determine--and you can't arrest people for acting guilty. What happened to the guy...as well as his girlfriend? All in all, the mystery doesn't turn out to be that mysterious and it leaves you wondering. In addition, when the guilty guy is in a shootout, he's shot in the left shoulder--yet in the next scene he's clutching his right and it's bleeding. Yet another sloppy detail. Sloppy and a story that just wasn't very engaging. Worth seeing but forgettable.
