Rin Tohsaka is one of Kana Ueda's favourite voice roles.
Tomokazu Seki (Gilgamesh) personally thinks Gilgamesh is one of his most frightening characters, and confesses even he is scared of him.
Series creator Kinoko Nasu had originally planned for Saber to be a male, as befits King Arthur's legend, but he decided a female version would make a more interesting character.
Gilgamesh's constant self-glorifying refers to the actual Epic of Gilgamesh, which dedicates entire verses every few chapters to praising its hero.
Some locations in Fuyuki City are based on real-life places in Kobe and Fujisawa City.
Gilgamesh was originally going to have a weapon named Enki (named after the Babylonian water god), a bow/double sword combo that summons the Surge of Utnapishtim (known in the Bible as the apocalyptic Great Flood Noah had to survive).
Kinoko Nasu describes the emotional theme of Fate/stay night as "oneself as an ideal."
