Tom, Bartlett's son, has arranged a yachting trip for Mrs. Haines and her daughter Ida, and Ida, deciding that her cousin is too pretty to come along, persuades Betty to stay behind. Tom, on the way to the yacht after a quarrel with his father, passes the Haines mansion and, noticing a sign advertising room and board, stops. Meeting Betty who is posing as Miss Haines, Tom moves in and falls in love with his landlady. Story of pretty young Betty (played by Olive Thomas), daughter of a man who has become bitter and resentful towards the man who took him in a bad mine deal and become rich, while Betty and dad struggle to make ends meet. Betty goes to stay with her Aunt and ends up "housesitting" for two weeks while Auntie is away in Panama. She decides to make some money on the deal by opening up the house for "room and board", and soon has her first boarder - the wealthy, good-looking son of the man her father hates. Romance ensues, and meanwhile Betty meets up with dad's enemy, father of her new boyfriend, in a car incident on the road and soon has charmed the old guy so much that he decides he would pay money to get his son to marry her!

I love Olive Thomas and think she is a really beautiful girl, but her acting ability, at least in this film, is mediocre at best. She gives a number of inappropriate reactions and smiles at the wrong places here, she is better in the film "The Flapper" done a few years later. She certainly adds a large amount of charm to the film though, much improved by her presence. There is a cute scene where Betty puts up her hair and acts the part of a much older lady, play acting as landlady of the manor for the benefit of potential lodgers. The print of this film which I saw was very nice looking and as a whole, I found the film to be lightly entertaining, pleasant fare.
