While happy with the progress and reception of the first season, series producer Gerard Glaister still felt that the series wasn't living up to its full potential. He realized that the main problem was the main setting - the Café Candide, which was set in a small side street where it rarely had any Nazi visitors (the main German cast had only ever appeared in the Candide setting once in the first season). By upgrading the cafe to a restaurant in the main area of Brussels, it made more sense that the Germans would visit more frequently, upping the dramatic stakes.

Guest star John D. Collins not only appeared in this series but also its comedy spoof, 'Allo 'Allo! (1982).

First appearance of Season 2 series regular pianist and forger Max Brocard, played by Stephen Yardley.

This episode takes place in November 1942.

Series regular Jan Francis is killed off unceremoniously at the end of this episode.
