At the start when Shep awakes from the nightmare, you hear the intro to Tupac Shakur's "Pain" - "I Couldn't help but notice your pain" - "My pain?" - "It runs deep, share it with me!". This voice-over is from Star Trek V: The Final Frontier (1989).

At the end of the film, footage shows Georgetown defeating Seton Hall by main character Kyle Lee Watson's last second shot in what is supposed to be The Big East Tournament championship game (film was made in July 1993). In the actual 1993 Big East Tournament, Seton Hall won the championship by beating Georgetown in the quarterfinals, followed by Providence in the semifinals and finally Syracuse in the championship game.
