Won the "Latino Award for Excellence" at the last "Shine Awards" ceremony in October 2004. Two cast members, one director and the excecutive producer went to Los Angeles to collect the award.

By 2001, with the budget for an episode of Draugai (1994) you could make more than 450 episodes of this series.

It's the first successful TV series in Nicaragua and it has inspired a new TV industry.

The studio where the show is produced, is the first studio built in Nicaragua for fiction TV.

When they were having an HIV lecture at school, the director told the extras playing the students that both of the people from the organization were HIV positive. This way the reactions when they shook their hands was real, some were actually scared to touch a person with HIV. When they finished shooting the scene, the director told them the truth and asked them for opinions on how they felt, this was also shot and used in the series.

In the story about Puerto Cabezas, in the Caribbean coast of Nicaragua, one of the extras playing a friend of Shevony, Tekuan A. Mejía, was killed shortly before the episode aired. The producers decided to dedicate that episode in his memory.

In the scene with Marcos at the park getting high, the actor playing Marcos (Hamington Sanchez) had to do some extra effort to appear affected by drugs. Hamington says he took it so seriously that his sugar levels dropped and he almost fainted, you can see his eyes were red, his face turned blue and when he falls on the floor, he almost lost consciousness.

In the scene with Gabriel and Gerardo in the principal's office, in order to appear sweaty and exhausted after their fight, the actors Abdel Largaespada and Ricardo Zambrana had to run across the entire studio about 5 times. This was recorded and used in their "Behind the scenes". Also, between takes, they both started jumping and goofing around with part of the production crew.

Outside the world, people think Nicaragua is a country in war, where people are not capable of achieving things the way a powerful country would. But Sexto Sentido comes to erase all those beliefs. It's a TV soap that's being broad casted every Sunday and it shows the world of many young man and women, each in a different situation and different perspectives. It's amazing the way they have emulated the reality of young people in Nicaragua and let's hope this series can be shown all over the world. They won the Special Latino award for excellence on the last Shine Awards and they have won many other awards because of the way they have promoted a new and better reality for people in Nicaragua, without violence, abuse, HIV, drugs, discrimination, etc. Way to go, Puntos de Encuentro!
