Bill Has Kleptomania (1911) Online
Poor Bill is a kleptomaniac, even in his own home, and in consequence he robs himself, being quite amazed over the situation. His affliction is well-known to his wife, and accordingly she follows him out of doors, and requests two plain clothes detectives to follow him, and pay for anything he steals. The detectives set out in pursuit. Bill leads them a lively dance, for they have to compensate a stall-keeper, a bird dealer, a nurse with a child, Bill having stolen the baby's bottle, several shop-keepers, etc. Finally, Bill, who has stored the stolen goods in his huge overcoat, tricks the detectives, and steals the pocketbook from the tall man. The loss is quickly discovered, and Bill is captured and dragged to the station. Here he is searched, and a huge number of articles are brought to light. To add to Bill's misery, his wife appears, and proceeds to give her erring husband a most business-like punishment.
