The BBC Film Lab was established in 2004 to give new directors the chance to make their first short drama films for festival release. New directors are supported through the full filmmaking process from script development to final mix. Set up at BBC Bristol by George Chan, Deep Sehgal and David Olusoga, the Film Lab has made 18 short films to date. Funded through BBC Training, the Film Lab has also held masterclasses with industry leaders including David Thompson of BBC Films, acclaimed writer/director Stephen Poliakoff and triple-Oscar winner Nick Park from Aardman Animations.
The film features 1,580 hand-written and labeled VHS tapes.
