Julie and Alex fell in love during high school. Until Alex passed the Philippine Military Academy, he gave Julie his PMA pendant, and in return she gave him her cross pendant (given by her grandmother). But the pendant was snatched, and Julie felt sad at the same time strange, thinking something bad would happen. And true enough, their love didn't push through when Alex became a soldier and died during the war. Alex was wearing Julie's pendant during the time that he died. Devastated, Julie vowed never to love again and continued to read William's letter to her. But her promise was bound to be broken when she met a man who has the same qualities as her previous love.
