Nick and Stella visit Rico in jail. Alone, Rico confides to Stella that he dreamed of finishing school and becoming a doctor, but now he realizes that he has another fate coming. After Rico breaks down, insisting in his innocence, Stella implores him to trust Nick. Matt tells Nick that Julie's death has affected the family, particularly Greta, who is having nightmares. Mike gives Nick a backhanded apology and receives a lecture from Matt about his ignorance of the law. Cadman questions Rico to find out where the rabbit's foot fob is. An angered and confused Rico calls for the police guard. Nick and Stella drink a toast to Rico's freedom and the day he becomes a doctor.
