Along the way they are attacked by "Blasters," superfast zombies mutated by the radioactive fallout. Our Heroes are introduced to "Z-Weed," an ultra-potent strain of marijuana grown in zombie compost. They go on a quest for "Batch 47," a potential cure for the Zombie Virus.

The zombies eating the faces of their victims could be a reference to the supposed "zombie attack" in Florida in 2012, in which a man who was high on bath salts attacked another man and ate most of his face, including his left eye.

The survivors help a convoy that is attacked on the road and their leader Sam Custer invites them to join his team. He explains that they are heading to Edmonton, Canada, since it is a cold place that zombies do not like. During their journey, the group is attacked by bounty hunters, looters and a dangerous breed of zombies.

"Zombie Road" is a funny episode of "Z Nation", with the powerful Z-Weed made using zombie corpses as fertilizer. It is good to see the veteran William Sadler back in a horror film. The fast and powerful zombies are also another funny moment of this show. My vote is seven.

Just started watching a few episodes ago, liked the acting. But when faced with either zombies or human raiders, they seemed to do a lot of "stupid shooting". Almost like old A-team TV show shooting where people blast away and can't hit anything.

In previous episodes my recollection is that they were pretty good shots.

The old geezer couldn't hit the zombie on the hood of the car, even though his(zombie) head was right up against the windshield, etc. Too many examples to list.

Why shoot at zombies chasing your moving vehicle, wastes ammo, wait till they're point blank.

I've liked this show from the beginning in spite of the campy humor. This episode though is one of the worst in many ways.

First, and foremost, I agree with two other reviewers that Roberta's group, all of a sudden and not those that were high, have trouble hitting the zombies let alone killing them.

10K needs 3 shots to kill a "Blaster" which was one the more believable scenes considering the radiation modified zombies speed and weird movement.

Roberta and the mercenary though have trouble hitting anything and everything.

Addy acts like she's never been in a zombie situation before in the "sick" area and Doc misses one point blank (he happened to be high so maybe that makes sense).

One other issue I had with this episode is when Roberta Warren says, "Headed East too," in response to Sam Custer saying his group is headed to Edmonton to outrun the fallout. They are in Cheyenne, Wyoming which is Southeast of Edmonton. Now if they are farther west in the United States than that it's my bad, and maybe this is a joke on how people in the United States suck at geography, but I would think one might say they were also heading north if Canada was the place they wanted to get especially if said place was Edmonton and not say, Toronto.

I realize that this is sort of a comedy show. I watched it up until Zombie Road. Which I assume is sort of the Mad Max Fury Road but with zombies.

What I don't get is how before when they shot they actually hit them. Now it's like none of them have used a gun before. I understand the attempt.

This is too much. I just do not get how before they used to be so much better at shooting a gun then suddenly with this episode got much worse.

As I said I understand the attempt and appreciate it. What got me was the lack of consistency with the characters. I'm out.

It's basically Mad Max: Fury Road with zombies!

I've always loved this show because it takes away the pretentiousness of other zombie-themed show like, say, Fear the Walking Dead, and makes zombies fun again. Not necessarily scary, but jut plain fun.

This episode especially, taking cues from Mad Max: Fury Road, is one hell of a fun ride, pun intended. It just follows our group of survivors from point A to point B, as is the norm, running across various humans (who want to take their supplies and vehicles) and zombies (the new variant now called "Blasters") who, well, want to eat them.

Kudos to William Stradler for his cameo in this episode. No one else could play the gruff, grizzled, battle-tested character template better than he can.

A must-watch for fans of the zombie genre as a whole.
