This is the first episode of Knots Landing (1979) in which John Pleshette (Richard Avery) and Ted Shackelford (Gary Ewing) do not appear. This leaves Michele Lee (Karen Fairgate) as the only actor to appear in every episode.
Karen says, "I don't know why we're being so jolly. For all we know, we could be heading straight into the Twilight Zone." She, Laura and Ginger then hum the theme tune of The Twilight Zone (1959). The producer of that series was Buck Houghton, the father of James Houghton (Kenny Ward). The younger Houghton played Jerry in The Twilight Zone: The Last Rites of Jeff Myrtlebank (1962).
