The film's title in English translates to "The Great Voyeurs Club". The film was given a French title purely for irony. As non-French speakers would assume that a film with a title like "Le Grand Club des Voyeurs" would sound fancy, whereas the film's contents are the complete opposite.
Despite having no physical contribution to the project, Joe Warrener (Who worked as cinematographer on Beech's previous short Karma Seized Creeps (2018)) is given special thanks credit. Warrener came up with the idea for the short whilst he and Christopher Beech were searching for filming locations for Karma Seized Creeps (2018). They we're both in a forest where they stumbled across a small car park where several people had noticed them carrying large cameras. Warrener then joked "they probably think were doing a dogging documentary".
Shot in three days over a period of six weeks. Shooting dates were October 8th 2017, October 29th 2017 and November 12th 2017. Since all the cast and crew had day jobs, the dates were spread out.
The high-pitched groans and "wanking" noises that the character "Wanker" makes, were all created by Christopher Beech.
Christopher Beech didn't intend to star in the short at all. He met with several actors to play the role of "The Photographer", but all declined due to the film's subject matter.
The blue 2007 Renault Clio Sport featured in the film belongs to Christopher Beech. The car is nicknamed "Louie".
Christopher Beech described the psychedelic flower montage in the film as a "bizarre method of character development".
Stewart Crank recorded all of his dialogue with his own equipment whilst on a theatrical tour in Germany. Christopher Beech conducted numerous Skype chats with Crank, applying direction of his character in the film. As of late 2018, Crank and Beech have never met in person.
Lynne Sellers recorded all of her lines with Christopher Beech present. They were recorded inside the same car that features in the film, to help give out genuine acoustics that didn't require much filtering in the edit.
Shot in and around the forests of North Staffordshire, England. Many of which Christopher Beech came across whilst hiking through them.
Due to the film's subject matter, many of the cast and crew, including Christopher Beech, didn't reveal to their families about the film until long after the film's release.
The Photographer reveals that his name is Officer P. Thomas. This is a direct reference to "Peeping Tom" from the myth of Lady Godiva of Coventry. Peeping Tom being one of the most famous voyeurs of all time.
