This is a brand new version of a Pirates Island, completely different from the original novel and all the other films under the same title. There is no Long John Silver or Jim Hawkins in this film but there are the pirates with a captain who is a woman.
The role of Tony in Pirates Island back in 1991 was actually a first main role for a young Australian actor Les Hill at age 18 who went famous as a star in a popular Australian TV series Home and Away.This was in fact a start of his entire future career.
