There are very few, rare occasions where we, viewers are enthralled by the atrocities going on in the big screen. That's where Aadu 2 suceeds at its best. Even simple, illogical scenes make this film a fun outing at every time.

A sequel to the disaster Aadu ( Oru Bheekara Jeevi Aanu), which was made a iconic film after the dvd release, which sparked a really fun and no-mo film that everyone admired. Aadu's sucess in that area pushed Midhun to take up its sequel, which is sure to destroy the BO.

In short, Aadu 2 takes everything from the first and improves upon it. It does justice to every character ( although Chemban Vinod was missing ) and the pure no-conscience of character development made the film a funnier outing than the first. The story, screenplay., direction were all on par with the first with the little more emphasis on storytelling than the first. The acting, was phenomenal by Jayasurya, who shows no sign of being out of character for a single moment in the movie. Viewers may find it a bit tedious of the runtime. which stretches to nearly 3 hours, but you will rarely notice that. The first half was better than the second, since Aadu is a film which focuses on comedy and the first half exactly delivered that.

Aadu has all the potential to become a franchise. It has the following, the reach and more importantly, memorable characters.

Aadu was a flop film in theatres but later had a cult following among youth when its DVD released. I remember when I was in college many boys used to wear Shaji pappan attire and dance to his theme song in college day. Inspired by the predecessor fan following, director Midhun Manuel Thomas and producer Vijay babu decide to come with its sequel. Except Chemban vinod, Sandra Thomas and renji panicker, all the characters in the first part are there with addition to new characters of baiju, maamukoya, sethulakshmi, Anson Paul etc. Does aadu 2 meet expectations?

Plus: 1. Performances: Aadu 2 main plus point is the entertaining performance of the major cast. Jayasurya's Shaji pappan character had all the mass elements but wasn't used properly in the first part. But in aadu 2, his heroism is used to full extent such that even his minimal mannerisms bring thunderous applause and whistles among audience. Kudos to Jayasurya to maintain the same body language from the first part. The next one who shines is Vinayakan as dude. Everyone knows that vinayakan successfully made his place among audience after winning the state award for best actor in kammatipadam. His dude character this time also entertains the audience and he too has a buildup scene. Vijay babu's comic timing improves in this one. Saiju kurup is double funny as Abu and dharmajan is as usual hilarious. Only Sunny Wayne's performance is weak. 2. Comedy: Aadu 1 had lot of unfunny jokes mostly. But aadu 2 has standard jokes which everyone would enjoy. 3. Songs and background score: Shaan rahman's music helps in maintaining the festive mode of the film. 4. Direction: Midhun Manuel Thomas rectified all the mistakes he had done in first part and made aadu 2 a well packaged entertainer.

Minus: 1. Story: Story of the film begins only in the second half which is confusing. After watching aadu 2 if anyone asks you its story then you would be scratching your heads. 2. Length: Film is very long and could have been trimmed especially in the first half as all of it features comedy of Shaji pappan gang.

Verdict: I didn't like aadu 1 even after it became a cult film, but I really loved aadu 2. Though initial scenes made me feel like I am again going to watch a bizarre film, but after the entry of shaji papan gang it becomes a roller coaster ride of fun. After puli murugan, this was my best theatre experience not because it's a visual treat but because I saw it in a houseful theatre were people were applauding and cheering for each and every scene.

Aadu 2 is a relentlessly funny movie with lot of crazy characters and the performances are very good. Jayasurya ofcourse is the life of the movie but some of his action scenes especially get a little too serious & dramatic which were unnecessary in this otherwise hilarious entertainment. The rest of the cast also make their mark very well like Sunny Wayne, Vinayakan, Saiju Kurup, Dharmajan, Indrans, Mamukoya etc but my favorite among the lot is Vijay Babu as the SI Sarbath Shameer who gets himself into unexpected trouble at every turn. I felt the makeup in few scenes on certain actors could have been neater, they become noticeable when the closeup shots were involved. Except for that and some too silly scenes, this movie is generally a good timepass. Verdict - watchable with family & friends but don't forget to leave your brains behind :)

I had my apprehensions when I decided to book tickets to watch the movie at the theater. Lets be honest, Aadu was a pretty decent movie.... nothing special. What worked for the movie was the novelty factor of the storyline and the characters. Should I go to the theater to watch the sequel to a movie that was just alright? Does it not make more sense to just wait for the movie to come out on dvd? After all I watch only really special movies like Parava, Maheshinthe Pratikaram & the likes at the theater.

Just back from the theater and Aadu 2 is without a shadow of doubt the funniest movie that I have watched in quite some time and I watch a lot of movies. I have seen it all right from 'Top Secret' to 'Dead man on campus' to 'Goon' to 'Tucker & Dale vs Evil' to 'Hot Rod'. If the genre is comedy then chances are that I have watched it. Aadu 2 is atleast a dozen times better than the original. The original had the occassional gags. This one is a laugh riot from the moment it begins to the very end. I dont think there was ever a moment of silence in the theatre. You have to be dead from inside to have not enjoyed Aadu 2. I did not watch it in Kerala so the English subtitles were kind of distracting but given a chance I would watch it again tomorrow. It is just that funny.

Literally every dialogue is a wisecrack. The dialogues are absolutely brilliant. Most of the scenes are mind bogglingly funny. Jayasurya, Vijay Babu & Dharmajan Bolgatty really stand out in the cast. The movie felt like almost 3 hours but I could have sat for another 3 hours happily. I genuinely hope there is an Aadu 3 but it would be difficult to better this one. Personally I think that this movie is to Malayalam cinema what Andaz Apna Apna is to Hindi cinema. You cannot find faults with a movie that is this enjoyable. Literally every pennys worth.

Just stop doing whatever it is that you are doing and go watch this movie. It does not get better than Aadu 2.

There's definitely energy and style in the way director Midhun Manuel Thomas creates his characters and makes them do things but they are not enough for a film to be considered well-made or entertaining. Comedy has always been a weak point for audience who watch Malayalam films for entertainment, and Aadu 2 understands that. It is because of this that it strongly depends on slapstick comedy, rambunctious character intro sequences, and extended story arcs that do not much add to the main plot. There's not a dull moment in Aadu 2, thanks to the talented Jayasurya and his team of more talented actors, but there are a few sequences that go on and on and on, some of which will take one at least two buckets of popcorn to sit through. After a while, even if there are shades of humor in such sequences, it gets unbearable and slightly annoying. Watching Aadu 2 will give an experience that is both fun and annoying because there are so many characters who are all not strong with their heads; after a while the viewer finds himself becoming a similar character. Those who do not let that happen will come out of the halls thinking how they will tackle the arrival of Aadu 3, as this film ends abruptly without proper conclusions to certain story arcs. While Aadu (2015) is a better film that enjoyed the fact that it introduced the quirky characters for the first time, this sequel is a stale and updated version of the same film. Making a man wear a shabby suit does not make him a new person other than aesthetically. TN.

To begin with,i had low expectations for the movie. The so called reason being the first part of the movie and the declaration made by the team of the movie that it is just fun and logic-less. So i was a little wary to jump into this loop.

But, breaking apart all my doubts AADU 2 is way above its predecessor and higher than you can think of. The comedy is spot on. Usually the movies made for just comedy make many low standard jokes, but this movie walks a new path of giving you the real laugh at every corner and let me warn you the movie is a hairpin road. The director/writer has Beautifully and skillfully connected back to the 1st part. There aint much story to see, pretty much the same stuff, but highly funny.

Just give the 1st part a go and then get in for this treat.

Aadu 2 is a perfect comedy entertainer with all comedy elements. Those who liked the first part will defenitely like this one too. The movie donot compromise a better script or story line but its all about the fun part .. The main character SHAJI PAPPAN acted by Jayasurya was MARANAMASS...The title animations was soo good which gives the actual mood of the movie.. From the starting to the end we will not get laggy the total 2hr40min will be felt like 1hr after watching the movie. This is the perfect entertainer of 2017 in Malayalam. The roles done by Vinayakan ("DUDE") was the main Highlight of the movie and others like Saiju Kurup ,Dharamajan Bolgatty also Done a great job in the movie ..Most of the scenes have made me laughy at the peak..Those who need better story or other things please step back fro this ..If u want to smile heavily gofor it .. Enter the theatre ad start laughing.... The movie is still Running with House full Shows in all theatre .... #Aadu2_Storm All Over.... <3

The actors had put in their best efforts but the script is not strong enough or have the depth to keep the audience in seat. Not entertaining as the first part.!! Avoidable.!!

This is movie is just amazing. It has been so many years since I have have been so relaxed when watching a movie. Every dialogue, every scene, every action, and every look is filled with humor. If you loved the first one then this will definitely be your most favorite movie at least in the recent times. And if you didn't like the first one don't worry, I hated the first one but I could watch Aadu 2 again 5 times in a row. There is definitely not much story to prey on but when you are dieing out of laughter there is no time to look for a story. Also, for a movie that completely relying on humor Aadu 2 has a pretty decent story. Standing ovation for the directory to have such a good sense of humor. There was this one scene were I paused the movie to finish laughing. Music was good but nothing matches to "Kodikayarna Pooram" in this one though. Shajiettan's intro could have been little bit more adipoli if he came in running but it wasn't bad. Jasurya as Shajiettan rocked, and the old villain Vinayakan gave tough competition to Jayettan because he was also party of the comedy this time. Every character did their roles perfectly. It is a must watch for humor lovers and those who want relax their minds for a while.

Not as original and fresh as the first part. Some of the character developments are also negating their arcs in the first part especially the character Lolan who's entirely the opposite person from the first film and the whole gang who've become a glorified version of them from the first part. The story takes many turns where the tone is shifted from the extreme slapstick style but fails to justify that change at times. But even with all these problems it still manages to be a hilarious ride that portrays the fan favourite characters catering to each fan groups. Besides some usual continuity problems that are often recurring in sequels of comedy films in Malayalam, most of the other problems with the film could have been solved with a tighter editing making it around 2 hours rather than the 2 1/2 hour long film. Still watching the whole gang again in action is always enjoyable.

Certain comedy scenarios in the movie are marvelous and makes it worth watch. But overall the movie drags at each scene, because of the style music and slow motions. Comedy scenes are also little exaggerated, maybe the general public likes it that way, but I feel it affects quality of the movie.
