Count Heinrich Von Baum searches through years of dissipation for happiness, but does not find it until he abandons the old life after meeting Lillian Calvin. The Count's wealth and position soon overshadow the advantages and accomplishments of Lillian's old sweetheart, Tom Hayden. The Count is taken ill and a physician warns him that he can live but a short while. Accordingly, be reunites Lillian and Tom, makes them beneficiaries of his will and, feeling satisfied that he has done one good deed in his useless life contentedly awaits his fate.
