Evan Handler, who plays Alan Dershowitz, had co starred in Frogmen, a TV pilot which OJ Simpson had filmed in 1994, prior to the murders.
Introduces lawyers F. Lee Bailey (Nathan Lane) and Alan Dershowitz (Evan Handler). Both characters have previously been portrayed on film in films about previous cases in which they defended men accused of killing their wives. Dershowitz successfully defended Klaus Von Bulow, and is portrayed by Ron Silver in Likimo nepakeisi (1990). F. Lee Bailey successfully defended Dr. Samuel Sheppard, a trial portrayed on film in 'Guilty or Innocent: The Sam Sheppard Murder Case (1975)(TV)'. That case also blamed sensational media coverage for the outcome of the trial. That case was also said to have inspired the television series The Fugitive (1963), which had been remade as a film (Beglys (1993)) the year before the Simpson case began.
At the end of the episode, after Marcia Clark (Sarah Paulson) learns that Johnie Cochran (Courtney B. Vance) has joined O.J Simpson's defense team, she mutters "Motherf---er" under her breath.
