In Montreal, Canada, Al and Kellie are an unmarried couple getting close to buying a townhouse for themselves and Kellie's six-year-old daughter. Their relationship is jeopardized when the house proves to be haunted by the ghost of a 15-year-old girl who clings to a terrified Kellie, desperate for maternal love. Worse, the house is also occupied by a more sinister ghost, that of a man. He wants to drive the family out. A trance medium is able to help the girl cross over, but can do nothing about the evil man. Kellie becomes pregnant, but what should be a happy time for her is poisoned by the haunting. She wants to move, but Al becomes obsessed with the mystery of the house, as he and two paranormal researchers learn of its evil past.

Interesting story about a young couple who move into a Montreal townhouse, only to discover that an evil entity is keeping other spirits earthbound while he frightens the household by making occasional appearances.

Turns out he's an abortionist who caused the death of a young girl and buried her in the cellar. He was head of a household of servants who lived in the house next door to the main mansion. He still rules them with an iron hand.

That's the nub of the hauntings, but the story focuses on the frightening noises and apparitions that cause the husband to hire a clairvoyant to get to the bottom of the hauntings.

Well written with shivery atmosphere and good performances.

A family moves into a home in Montreal, Quebec. The family thinks their new home is "ideal" until they realize the house is haunted.

Built in the early 1900's, the house was originally used as living quarters for the servants working in the mansion next door. After the second world war, the mansion is sold, and the servants left the house... or did they? Later the home is rented by Al and Kelly, a newly joined couple, ready to begin life together. With them they bring Kelly's young daughter. Initially the haunting began with the apparition of a young girl who committed suicide. After a medium urges the girl's spirit to move onto the light, it is discovered that there are more ghosts in the home. One of them, a man who was a former servant,who in life was a tyrant, in the afterlife became a malevolent spirit, holding the other ghosts in the human world, not letting them move onto the light.

Definitely an eerie story. For those of you who enjoy a good ghost story, this is definitely one you will want to catch.
