Sabrina's dream sequence was based on an episode of I Love Lucy titled Job Switching (1952) where Lucy and Ethel go to work at a candy factory.
The title is based upon the quote: "Oh, what a tangled web we weave, When first we practice to deceive!" from Marmion, an epic poem by Walter Scott.
