Carolee's romantic dilemma becomes messier when she receives a cablegram from Dan. Later, she confides in Emma that she doesn't know how she feels about Dan, but she loves Steve, though she can't trust him. Sigrid tells Steve that she intends to help Nick save the super-virus research. Steve reads Dan's cablegram on Carolee's desk, leading to another fight and an ultimatum that angers Carolee. Afterward, Steve invites Sigrid on a date. Emma warns Carolee that she's going to get hurt if she doesn't make a decision. Later, Carolee phones Steve and realizes that Sigrid is with him. Steve kisses Sigrid passionately.
