Reynolds tells Steve that Cathy remembered a threat she overheard Dan make to Steve. Steve recalls for Reynolds more details of the same argument. Carolee laments the irony that she's going to be the "notorious Mrs. Allison" in all the newspapers once Steve goes to trial, and then she'll testify anyway. Steve gives Reynolds a letter to pass on to Carolee. Mike uses Hank as a sounding board in his worry that Toni will go to New York and meet the resident she was once into a heavy scene with. Reynolds delivers Steve's letter to Carolee. In a flashback to telling Dan that she would never return to him, Carolee explains to Reynolds why she once referred to Dan as a "madman." Reynolds is intrigued by the fact that Dan said that Steve would never have Carolee, just after learning he wouldn't either.
