Spartacus and the rebels arrive at a crossroads. With the relentless Crassus driving his men hard in the pursuit of Spartacus, the conflict between Tiberius and Caesar escalates.
Spartacus: War of the Damned Separate Paths (2010–2013) Online
Spartacus gets his horde away from the ridge but lost the taste to risk huge casualties among the many weak runaways, so he resolves to flee over the Alps. Crixus however gets his blessing to take an army of volunteers, including Agron but not his gay lover Nasir, to attempt taking Rome, which is only defended by Varrius's single legion if Crassus pursues Spartacus. In the Roman camp, Crassus uses brute force against 'disloyal' senator Metellus's protest. Caesar wants Tiberius to help control his father's dangerous temper, but threatening to expose Kore's fate fails when Tiberius personally submits Caesar to anal rape. Crixus's battle goes well, until they are surprised and crushed by Crassus's legions, after which Crixus's head is severed by Tiberius's sword.

Cynthia Addai-Robinson was crying for real during Crixus' death scene, basing it upon her own father's death who had passed away from cancer just a few months prior to filming. As close friends on set, Manu Bennett, who was previously unsure on how to play the scene, then focused his performance on giving Cynthia his look of support when Crixus gazes at Naevia before his beheading, rather than anything about himself. The photo of Crixus and Naevia with their foreheads together was not a part of the scene but after, as Robinson was still crying after filming was finished.
In the history of Spartacus, Crixus and 30,000 followers separated from Spartacus with intent on plundering the Roman countryside and perhaps marching on Rome. But, Crixus came under attack from a Roman army under the command of the Roman consul Lucius Gellius Publicola near Mount Garganus in 72 B.C. Crixus is said to have fought bravely in a losing effort, but was killed in the conflict.
In Spartacus: Blood and Sand: Decimation (2013), it was hinted that Crixus and Nevia would Spartacus and take their own path of revenge against Rome.
