As a child, Eddie Roberts witnessed a horrible crime against a woman. As an adult the childhood experience manifests itself in his own behavior as he abducts and tortures young women. One of his victims is Heather, the girl who rejected him when they were younger. Heather must survive Eddie's tortures until she can be rescued, or escape.

Originally, the role of Heather was offered to actress Melanie Robel, who was unable to take it due to schedule conflicts. Upon reading the script, she noted that it bore a striking resemblance to real-life serial killer David Parker Ray, a similarity completely unintended by the author.
