Though the release date says 1956, this film consists mostly of footage from a 1931 documentary called "Gow the Killer." It was the first sound film to deal with cannibalism, as it documented the social life and customs of primitive tribes that in fact did engage in cannibalism.

This was ripped off footage of an earlier film.

Despite the 1956 date, it was clearly mostly filmed in the 30's.

I don't know how it went over then, but today it looks like something that was found in great-grandpa the explorer's attic. Or maybe it was a play put on for the kids at the beach.

Another one that gets lumped into the Mondo section of your more liberal video shops. Some places accidentally put it in with the Italian cannibal flicks too.

And strangely enough...copies on ebay tend to get fought over bid wise, but don't ask me how I know.
