When Mulder is being chased through the airport because of Max's bag, he quips to Scully, "More people are trying to get their hands on this thing than a Tickle Me Elmo doll." In late 1996 an epic fad of consumer mania happened over the Tickle Me Elmo doll.

Executive producer John Shiban was asked to write a speech for Garrett in the scene where Mulder encounters him on the airplane. Inspired by a speech given by Orson Welles in El tercer hombre (1949), Shiban wrote the monologue as an homage to the film.

Max's home videos were actually shot by director Kim Manners himself.

At 22min 5secs, the camera shot from the roof of the hanger shows a huge 'X' shape in the roof frame.

Last episode of Agent Pendrell.

Brendan Beiser, who plays the ill-fated Agent Pendrell, was deeply upset when he read the script to this episode and realized that he was going to get killed off.
