Under Milk Wood (1971) Online
This is a delightful if peculiar story of a day in the life of a small, Welsh fishing village called "Llareggub" (read it backwards). We meet a host of curious characters (and ghosts) through the 'eyes' of Blind Captain cat. This is a true "Classic" of modern British writing with a wonderful, mischievous use of language.

Peter O'Toole spends the latter part of the film with his eyes closed because he couldn't stand wearing the contact lenses that gave him the appearance of blindness which he wore in the earlier parts of the film.
In December 2012 the director of the film, Andrew Sinclair, has gifted its rights to the people of Wales.
The budget of $300,000 was underwritten by Richard Burton, as he was so keen to make Dylan Thomas's work available to a wider public.
The name of the village, Llareggub, is "bugger all" spelled backwards.
Although two married couples - Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor, Peter O'Toole and Siân Phillips - are among the cast of the film, neither couple is ever seen on screen together. However, Peter O'Toole and Elizabeth Taylor appear together in a very steamy bedroom scene.
The three principal stars were just paid £10,000 for their services.
The ninth of eleven films that Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton starred in together.
