This is the first feature length film by SoundLOY Productions and its creators, Danielle Coley and Steven D. Gayle.
The film was completed without outside funding.
"7 City Legacy" was shot during one of the hottest summers in Virginia history. The AC units during interviews had to be turned off in order to prevent excess noise. As a result, many interviews were conducted in a room in which the temperatures rose well above 100 degrees Fahrenheit.
The premiere for "7 City Legacy" was held in the Attucks Theatre depicted in the documentary.
