The scene Bubbles McGee (Joan Collins) is acting out is a direct satire of a scene from the Tales from the Crypt (1972) segment "And All Through the House" where the character played by Joan Collins also kills her husband, only to be attacked by an escaped mental patient dressed as Santa Claus. The same story line was also used in the "Tales from the Crypt" (1989) TV series episode "And All Through the House" directed by Robert Zemeckis.

The killer Santa Claus from the movie involving Bubbles McGee (Joan Collins) is reminiscent to the season 2 episode "Unholy Night" where Ian McShane guest stars as Leigh Emerson, a man who dressed up as Santa Claus and went on a killing spree.

Cameo of Jamie Brewer as "Nan" from coven.

The second time this season where Cordellia is shown being murdered, yet never actually dies.

When Mallory is tested to be the Supreme, they run the same type of BW silent movie reel to show the tests being done by Mallory just as they ran the BW Silent movie reel for Michael Langdon when he took the test.

I was amused that the movie Bubbles McGee was filming was the first segment of 1972's Tales from the Crypt starring Joan Collins. Did anyone else catch that?

It's the best episode so far out of the seven of Apocalypse. There was no useless, unnecessary comedic element, except for Coco's power, but it actually fits in and it was enjoyable. The less, the more. It's the first episode which gets close to previous seasons, when it's come to darkness, depth, thrill, seriousness - but I hope it still developes. Also, we get an answer finally for Myrtle being back alive. Maybe I'm not the biggest Cody Fern fan, so I didn't feel I was missing something with him not appearing in it.

As Cordelia breaks boundaries the show shines again as more and more of the coven show up. I love the ladies showing their awesome skills. Nice to have more of the witches on. I think we will be really jazzed for the next few episodes as I'm on the edge of my favorite eazy sleazy-chair recliner waiting waiting waiting! Great balance in this episode. See ya all in the funny papers!

This season might run into multiple problems wrapping up the stories. We are reaching the closing episodes of this season, and yet we are still caught up in season 3,1 and some pre-apocalypse adventures. I would really enjoy watching cordelia, zoe, madison, and others roaming about on my screen, but there are also parts like Ms. Venable, Mr Gallant, Emily, Timothy and others in apocalypse that I feel are completely forgotten. There were so many half-baked stories in the first 3 episodes that I feel are going to waste.

What is evident is that we have only 3 episodes to wrap up a story containing 3 very different seasons, and as the past coven/murder house episodes indicate, I highly doubt the writers dedicated enough time to fully appreciate apocalypse. I hope they don't wrap up this season, or leave it for another season. There were extremely interesting possibilities for a post-apocalypse show.

This is just becoming bad and the witness are becoming laughable. Without the guy how plays Michael all the witch stuff is silly. There's no charter development and I wasn't sacred and the plot wasn't that good. Also the problem with having people come back from the dead is that I don't have to worry about what happens what so ever. I thought the first 3 episodes were really well done but it's really gone down hill. I mean the lighting and Camera work is great and the acting is pretty good but the plot is just getting so stupid

Well I have to say that tonight's episode was so good. And it made me want to watch it over and over again. And seeing Coco's new power was so amazing and really funny. And seeing Papa Legba again was both Scary and Awesome. And what else that I really loved about this episode was when Mallory brought Coco back to life since Coco was choking on a piece of food. Two, Mallory bringing back John Henry Moore was so amazing. And finally, seeing all of the Witches and John Henry Moore buring Ariel, And Baldwin, And Ms.Mead to ashes was so amazing. And seeing Joan Collins new character was so cool!

Is how Mallory defeats Michael. It's painfully obvious how this will end. Every episode between now and the finale is just filler. They gave away the ending weeks ago by showing how powerful Mallory is. They might as well just do the finale next week. If you remember Coven and Cult, when there's a battle of the sexes in AHS, the women win.

My sentiment mirrors callmemaybe757- I was ok not to have Langdon in this ep. Allowed the other characters to shine up to possibly defeat him- who knows; but omg- the fashion at the Bates & Warlock BBQ was divine and they all are such supreme actors- Bates' crazy face in the flames ???? was as fabulous as ....everyone is so on their game. No one had a small role!! Myrtle is full of life, Joan May as well be in a bikini on ice skates- she is SO HOT! I want to give every single one their due, as they seriously ALL brought it!

Worst episode of the season so far, another complete flashback episode and has no Micheal in it at all. After building Micheal up to be some all knowing and powerfull anti-christ figure it was painfully obvious after this episode that its going to end with Mallory and the witches winning at the end of the season. I hope i'm wrong and Micheal pulls a fast one on all of them but i just dont see it happening with the whole 'Me too' vibes coming off this last episode.

There was nothing overtly bad here, but nothing good either. This episode was just plain. Seeing the reappearance of Nan was definitely interesting, but on the other hand, Grossman is still the worst and most annoying character ever. Finally, we get an explanation of how Myrtle came back to life, taking way too long to explain. Also why is she vaping? Is that needed? As of this episode, we now have more episodes of flashback than of the present, after the apocalypse, which this season is subtitled. I have a bad feeling that the last episode or two will be dedicated to the events after episode 3 when the flashback started, and will wrap up the season too hastily. We shall see.

Probably the weakest episode so far, not bad but definitly not great. Missed micheal, felt weird without him in an episode since it seems like this entire season is about him. NEXT episode looks BADASS tho

When this season started with the Apocalypse, i wrote a stellar review for its great writing and bold storyline..Well its has been going down the sewer with each show getting worse, descending into a mish mash of gross, demented and disgusting stories that would best be never made let alone acted out..Its turned from Apocalypse, into Coven murder house....I have nothing good to say about this mess of a season, thats been designed to disgust ,gross out and bring down the consciousness of anyone who would waste their time watching it... I've passed completely on some of the other seasons and will likely pass on this one...what a waste of money for whoever produced this, and a waste of time for whoever watched it.

Obviously this series has run out of original ideas. Too bad too. I just rewatched Hotel. Now that was a great season IMHO. I think AHS and Modern Family should just end already! Both are dying a death of a thousand cuts. This episode was totally boring and terribly over acted by every character almost to the point of camp. I'll probably finish this one out. My wife bailed out already.

I may be in the minority here, but each season of AHS seems to be getting progressively worse. Each show feels like it was written quickly and on the spot, and the plots are becoming so contrived, convoluted and complicated that I'm finding them almost impossible to follow. This used to be a frightening television series... now it seems like it's mostly a rambling talkfest between all the characters. Hopefully if the series survives another season they'll come up with something more original... witches just aren't frightening.

This was one of my favorite episodes of the season, and felt like something right out of the AHS: Coven season. Seeing all of the girls one-on-one plus the addition of the brilliant Bubbles McGee (Joan Collins) was perfect.

I loved the dynamic of the witches in the academy, supporting one another, teaching and learning witchcraft... it's exactly what I was always longing for during the Coven season and my dream came true with this episode!

Love love it! A++

Definitely a filler episode, as in it filled the blanks and felt natural. Downside is it didn't hold my attention 100% so if you're easily distracted keep that in mind.
