With little fanfare or closure 'My Family', one of the biggest UK sitcoms of recent times left the air with this episode after winning several awards and regularly getting 9 million viewers. Why no fanfare then? Because quite simply it had run its course long before this episode.

It's very easy to say that it went downhill after Kris Marshall's character left, but really 'My Family' carried on well despite that right up until its 10th series. There were weak episodes and either Robert Lindsay and Zoe Wannamaker were absent more but, much like a family it struggled on.

However this final episode highlights why the time had come. The jokes are weaker, the characters larger versions of what they had been 11 years earlier.

I'm a big 'My Family' fan, but even I have to admit that the show had to stop based on this.
