Ken Marino (Vinnie Van Lowe) also appeared in Veronica Mars (2014), Party Down (2009), and an iZombie (2015) episode, iZombie: Dead Beat (2016)]. Rob Thomas created all three productions.

Enrico Colantoni and Laura San Giacomo previously starred together on Ammu vaan! (1997)

Paula Marshall & Enrico Colantoni also worked together on episodes 6.10 Ammu vaan!: Nina Van Mom (2002) & 6.11 Ammu vaan!: Nina Van Grandma (2002) of Ammu vaan! (1997).

Michael Cera, who played Dean in episode 2.16, Veronica Mars: The Rapes of Graff (2006), was originally going to be the serial rapist until scheduling conflicts prevented him from returning to the show.

Sheriff Lamb's (Michael Muhney) line "No Touching!" references Sukuvika (2003).

When Veronica (Kristen Bell) wakes up in the dorm and steps over Piz, who's sleeping on the floor, he asks her for an egg sandwich. She looks at him and Meryl (Amanda Walsh) and asks "Orange Whip?" This is a reference to John Candy's character in Blues Brothers (1980) when he does the same thing at the concert.

In this episode, Keith (Enrico Colantoni) breaks up with Harmony Chase (Laura San Giacomo) because Veronica (Kristen Bell) doesn't approve of the relationship. It's the second time he ends a relationship in order to please his daughter. The first time was in episode 1.5, Veronica Mars: You Think You Know Somebody (2004), when he broke up with Rebecca James (Paula Marshall), Neptune High School's guidance counselor.

Meryl's (Amanda Walsh) theory about Sully (Michael Grant Terry) accidentally inventing a "laser that can kill people from space" is a reference to the 1985 movie Real Genius (1985) starring Val Kilmer.

This is the second time Veronica (Kristen Bell) has been drugged by GHB. The first time was at Shelly Pomeroy's (Melissa Hoover) party.

This episode had an estimated audience of 2.69 million viewers when it first aired.

The episode's title is a play on "Of Mice and Men", a book by John Steinbeck.

Michael Grant Terry, who plays Sully, was also on Bones (2005). In Bones, there is also a recurring character who also has the name Sully.

When Veronica (Kristen Bell) is found by Logan (Jason Dohring) by her car drugged and with part of her head shaved with some blood spots on her skull, you can tell that the perpetrator did not use a clipper guard. For the other girls that were drugged, attacked and shaved, their heads are not shaved closely that you see spots of blood on their skulls, but left about quarter inch of hair - meaning the perpetrator used a clipper guard.

If not before, "Veronica Mars" jumped the shark with this episode. Veronica is goofy and juvenile. (This from a young woman who started out 16 going on 39.) Too many "out door" jokes. Too much "ain't I funny?" mugging.

It's almost unnecessary to express disappointment in Keith Mars' compromising his own principles for no reason. Next to the general downward tone of the show, that is small potatoes that could have been forgiven.

Did Logan confess to abetting Mercer in fleeing from a scene where Mercer was responsible for getting people burned to death? Not clear.

Never mind that I am as confused as ever about what happened in Veronica's investigation.
